$5,000 Guarantee

Tonight I'm playing again the 5k tourney at p4e. I bought in directly for $25+$2,5 and decided not to make any rebuys. However, if it's needed I'm gonna make an add-on at the break.

I started really bad. Firstly, I got down to 1,500 chips after TT. Then I came back to the 2,000 starting chips flopping JJJ on my pocket 9s. 10 minutes later I flopped 494 on my KQs, I made standard c-bet and pushed the turn with a flush draw and 2 overs. Some donkey called me with 88 and I was down to 770 in chips. The blinds went on me and I got even shorter but I managed to get back witn no rebuys. Firstly I flopped top set reising my QQ preflop. I doubled up and later I made a split with AKs vs another AKs. Some reises with marginal hands like K3s made my stack up to 1,800 in chips before I manage to double up again. CO limped and I reised to 500 (5BBs) with Q9s, BB called, CO - too. The flop was 38J and I pushed. BB called me with an A3 and the turn opened T saving me from busting out just before the break. After making an addon my stack is 6,000 in chips which is the average at this part of the game.


15 mins after the break I picked up pocket Qs. The chipleader reised to 3BB and I just called from position, the big blind also called and we flopped 9Tx. They checked and I fired a quick 1k bet. The preflop reiser called OOP but check/folded the blank turn. My stack bacame over 8,000 in chips.

Another 10 minutes and guess what I've god - yes, queens again. Reised standard from UTG and BTN called me. Flop was 5T5 and I bet 950. He thought for a second and called my c-bet. I pushed him at a 9 on the turn for about 2,000 chips. He called again showing posket 8s - do I said I really like those fishes? My stack grew up to 11,700 in chips and got to 10th position - 50 players left.

20 mins later I got AJ and reised 3BB to 900, the shortstack pushed for 900 more and showed AK. Finally, he got flush and I was down to 10,000 in chips. The blinds are 200/400 after this hand.

Later 8 mins before the break UTG+1 limped and I pot-reised him from MP. He pushed and I had very good pot-odds for calling him. He showed Q-rag suited o_O. The flop consisted three spades and he had only 2 outs left. I became with 13,500 in chips - 11k was the average and 33 players left.


First hand after the break: AKs from the SB. Blinds are 300/600 with an ante of 50. Co reised to 1800 an folded after my 3-bet to 6,000. On the next hand I glanced at my cards and got a smile on my aces - red aces. UTG+1 limped and I made a 4BB reise from the BTN. He called and the flop turned another ace. Unfortunately, he folded after my half-pot bet. Another pocket pair appeared on the next hand - 88. Utg+1 reised and I folded thinking didn't have correct odds. A shortstack pushed and UTG+1 called showing KK. The flop was K8x and I was extremely happy hadn't called his preflop reise.

After 2 hours and a half from the beginning I have 18,500 in chips. Av. stack is 15k, blinds are 400/800 on the next hand and we are only 13 people from the money.

00:35 Got TT from SB, CO reised for 2800 and I folded after a lot of thinking. The BB re-reised and both players showed 99 and AJ. An Ace on the river put a smile on my face and the BB doubled up becoming 27,000 in chips.

5 mins later the same guy pushed for 9BBs. I also pushed but his 9s won vs my AJ. I'm down to 10k and 20 players left. Looking for an all-in situation...

00:55 Aces and I'm up to 12k. 1 minute and I picked up AKo from UTG. Reised 3,5k (500/1000 blinds) and the chipleader on my left re-reised for 10,000. I pushed and he showed up KK. I was screaming "ACE" in my mind and it appeared on the turn. "SHIP IIIIIIIT" said 'krisbg' in the chat and his stack was 27,000 already. 5 players more and we are at the final table.

01:26 Playing the bubble for more than 20 minutes. AK on the BB, I got reised and just call hoping to hit an ace and stack him. The flop was 828 and we both checked, turn was K and I checked trying to trap him. It didn't work and I made a value bet after J came on the river. I won the hand and my stack became 30,000 in chips. 3 hands after that some guy got busted and the final table is up to me =).


01:30 Final table started. Blinds are 1000/2000 with ante of 200. Average stack is 35,000 and I am in seventh position with 30,000.

01:35 UTG limped and I follow him holding pocket 2s from MP. The blinds joined us in a 4-way flop and it was 92J all of clubs. UTG made a quick pot-bet and I pushed. He called me showed up ace of clubs. Fortunately, the turn and the river were spades and I became with 65,000 in chips.
While I was writing here some guy went out and we are 9 players left with me as the vice-chipleader lol.

01:53 TT vs shortstack's A7s. The game is down to 6 players.

01:55 I was dealt JJ but when an ace & queen came on the flop the chipleader pushed. I folded and got back to 40,000. 3 mins later I stacked one of the shortstacks with TT, but on the next hand the chipleader reised again and I called him with ATs. The flop gave me flush draw + gutshot and I check-reised him allin. Unfortunately, he had flopped two pairs and nothing helped me.

I'm out on a 5th place winning $400. Why the fuck am I feeling dissappointed =(.
